Two die in northern Maine crash

A head-on crash on Monday claimed the lives of two people in Aroostook County.

According to Maine State Police, the victims were identified as April Kellerhals, 41, of Littleton and Dale Drake, 81, of Presque Isle.

Police say Drake crossed into the opposite lane while rounding a corner on Rt. 1 in Westfield and struck Kellerhals’ vehicle.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Drake was pronounced dead at the scene, while Kellerhals died in the hospital.

The accident remains under investigation.
