Two Face Drug Trafficking Charges After Skowhegan Traffic Stop

Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after police say they found fentanyl, cocaine, and meth during a traffic stop in Skowhegan.

Police say they stopped a black 2015 Nissan Rogue on West Front Street over the weekend and suspected drugs were in the vehicle. Officers say they used a drug sniffing K-9 to locate the illegal narcotics. In all. 6.0 grams of fentanyl, 3.8 grams of cocaine, 0.6 grams of methamphetamine, and $240.00 in drug proceeds were taken into evidence.

The two people in the vehicle were 27-year-old Michaela Higgins of Madison and 39-year-old Mike Medeiros of Skowhegan, who are both now in the Somerset County Jail.

Higgins was arrested for Unlawful Trafficking and Unlawfully Furnishing of a schedule drug. She has a $5,000 cash bail.

Medeiros was arrested for Aggravated Trafficking and Unlawfully Furnishing of a scheduled drug as well as violating two separate sets of Bail Conditions. His bail has so far been denied.
