Maine State Police have charged two men with possessing child pornography in unrelated cases.
Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit identified 28-year-old Casey Leavitt, who was arrested on Wednesday at his home. He was taken to the Two Bridges Jail and has a court date scheduled for July. Investigators found over a hundred images of young children on his cell phone, which were seized in March.
Police also arrested 38-year-old Jeffery George at his home in China, Maine on Monday. George, who is already on Maine’s sex offender list for life, was taken to the Kennebec County Jail and his court appearance is scheduled for July 20th.
Both men are charged with possessing sexually explicit material of a minor under the age of 12.
