Two Mexican nationals face charges after alleged illegal border crossing in Maine

Two Mexican nationals who had been previously deported from the U.S. pleaded guilty Tuesday to illegally reentering the country.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Bangor, 38-year-old Manuel Bonilla Davila and 36-year-old Eduardo Ruiz Rojas were arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents in April 2023 near the Canadian border in Aroostook County.

They each face up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine for violating federal immigration law.

Their sentencing dates have not been set yet.
