Two people uninjured after getting stranded in Penobscot River

Two people were rescued from the Penobscot River when their kayak and paddleboard flipped over.

According to the Bangor Daily News, Orono and Veazie Fire Departments responded to a call of two people in the river around 1 p.m. Friday. They found one person on an island near Rock Street in Veazie and the other in the water. Neither were in distress.

Both people were brought to shore by 1:40 p.m. They were not injured.
