Deputies say an 84-year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash in Kennebec County on Saturday.

CBS 13 reports it happened around noon on Pond Road in Wayne, off Route 133.

They say the driver of one of the vehicles, 84-year-old Blanche Fyler of Wayne, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other Wayne residents, 83-year-old James Thompson and 81-year-old Catherine Thompson, were traveling in the other vehicle.

They both suffered serious injuries, but deputies expect them to recover from those injuries.

They say the crash is still under investigation, but snowy road conditions likely played a role in the accident.
