The University of Maine system is urging it’s students to get vaccinated on Wednesday.

That’s the same day the state is opening up vaccine eligibility to all Mainers ages 16 and up. The UMaine system has launched a “This is Our Shot, Maine” vaccination drive.

The effort includes nurses and athletes from several universities in the UMaine system.

School officials hope to have a significant number of students and staff vaccinated in time for commencement on May 8th.
