UNITY, Maine (WGAN)  A Unity man has been arrested in connection with the state’s fourth meth lab of the year.

Monday evening Maine Drug Enforcement agents from the Mid-Coast District Task Force and the Waldo Sheriff’s Office searched the home of 35-year-old Thomas Heaberlin of 16 Fisher Road in Unity.

Earlier in the day, agents conducted surveillance of Heaberlin as he returned to his residence after purchasing the ingredients used to manufacture meth.

During the search agents found a concealed room within the home and evidence inside of meth making including 10 one pot labs that Heaberlin had used to cook up the meth. Heaberlin was arrested without incident for Unlawful Operation of a Methamphetamine Laboratory (Class B) and transported to the Waldo County Jail. Bail was set at $100 cash.

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection assisted by taking possession of the toxic byproducts of methamphetamine production.
