All of Maine’s counties remain green after Friday’s update to the COVID-19 school health advisory system.

Under the system, counties in the green category are given the go-ahead to proceed with in-person learning.

The administration of Governor Janet Mills said the two-week new case rate has remained steady, and the positivity rates in all counties remain below 5%.

Maine’s DHHS and CDC say evidence continues to suggest that the rate of coronavirus transmission is lower in schools. Over the last 30 days, the rate of new cases for school staff and students is 30 per 10,000, compared to 41 per 10,000 in the general population.
