Victim identified in Westbrook homicide investigation

Police are investigating a homicide in Westbrook.

Investigators say 61-year-old Clarence James Pearson was found dead in an apartment on Mechanic Street around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Public Information Officer Shannon Moss said Wednesday the manner of death was ruled a homicide following an autopsy. The cause of death has not been released. There’s also been no word on a suspect.

Police believe the death was an isolated incident but encourage the public to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Maine State Police.

The incident is one of nine death investigations launched in the state over an eight-day period.
