State police have announced the identities of two people who were killed in a crash in Washington County Wednesday.

The crash on Route 9 in Township 30 was reported at about 11 a.m.

Following a preliminary investigation, police said two women in a 2014 Kia Forte were killed when the driver lost control while coming around a corner, and then entered the oncoming lane before colliding with a logging truck.

The women, who were both from New Brunswick, Canada, were identified as 35-year-old Tiffany Tinker, the driver, and 36-year-old Jennifer Sutherland, a passenger in the vehicle.

The operator of the logging truck was not hurt.

Officials say there were two secondary crashes involving other tractor-trailers that did not contribute to any loss of life.

Police say road conditions appear to have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
