Wardens Find Missing Belfast Woman

BELFAST, Maine (WGAN)  The Maine Warden Service has a missing Belfast woman has been found safe.

Belfast Police told the Maine Warden Service around 5 p.m. that 74-year-old Nancy Rumney was reported missing by her husband in the afternoon on Thursday.

Wardens say a resident told them they had seen Rumney hiking in the woods between Route 52 and Village Road around 9 a.m.  The resident told wardens they had seen Romney on the opposite shore but could not get her attention.  Rumney then wandered off.

Warden Chad Robertson and his K9 storm were deployed to the area and found Rumney about htree miles from her home.

Officials say Rumney was in fair health and was taken to Waldo County General Hospital to get looked at.
