Two men are presumed dead after drowning on Messalonskee Lake in Belgrade on Monday.

Wardens on Monday afternoon said they’re leading the search for two young men, one 21 years old and the other 19 years old. Their identities have not been released.

They said the pair were swimming with friends near a pontoon boat when a strong wind gust pushed it away and caused them to go under water and never resurface.

Wardens said a dive team was expected to search the water Monday evening.

The search took place the same day officials said a man from South Portland drowned in the Saco River on Sunday.
