WATERVILLE, Maine (WGAN) A Waterville teen accused of planning an ISIS-inspired attack at a mosque has denied making explosive devices.

Federal agents arrested 18-year-old Xavier Pelkey in February after they found three improvised explosives and two paintings of the ISIS flag in his apartment.

According to court documents, Pelkey was planning an attack in the name of ISIS on a Shia Muslim Mosque in the Chicago area.

Pelkey, who the FBI says was working with two other teens in Chicago and Kentucky, was indicted by a grand jury earlier this month. He pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of unregistered devices.

Pelkey is being held without bail.
