Westbrook man charged with OUI after crash that took out utility pole

WESTBROOK, Maine (WGAN) A man from Westbrook who police say crashed into a utility pole Wednesday night and then fled the scene is charged with OUI.

According to CBS 13 news, the crash happened on Cumberland St. in Westbrook around 11:15 p.m. Police responded to a report of a truck that had crashed into a utility pole.

Police used a K-9 to track the suspect. Officers found 29-year-old Craig Champagne and took him into custody.

He’s been charged with OUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
