SANFORD, Maine (WGAN) A wildfire in southern Maine has burned 314 acres of land.
Our info partners at Channel 8 report that as of Thursday morning, crews had contained 80 percent of the wildfire that affected Kennebunk, Wells and Sanford.
More than 70 firefighters and four forest rangers have been working to contain the rest of the fire and put out hot spots today.
Officials say wind on Wednesday made fighting the fire difficult. Rain Thursday was expected to help in putting out the blaze.
The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.
