Wildfire in Winter Harbor burns over an acre

A large wildfire in Winter Harbor in Hancock County broke out Saturday afternoon, burning about 1.4 acres. According to CBS 13, the fire department was joined by Gouldsboro firefighters and Maine Forest Rangers to help put out the fire.

The Winter Harbor fire department posted on their Facebook page sharing photos of the burn site and thanking the rangers and firefighters who assisted in putting the fire out quickly.

Maine’s recent temperatures have increased the state’s fire danger, with the entire state currently reporting high levels of fire danger.
