WIlton man sentenced to nine years for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl

WILTON, Maine (WGAN) A Wilton man will spend 9 years behind bars for conspiring to distribute fentanyl.

According to the Sun Journal, 55-year-old Dennis Ayala pleaded guilty to 1 count of conspiracy to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl. Conditions of release include 4 years of supervised release and being subject to random drug testing and searches.

Ayala and his daughter, 35-year-old Andrea Hoffman, were arrested in May of 2018.

Police connected Ayala to the conspiracy to bring the drugs from Massachusetts into Maine when they arrested an acquaintance of his at a traffic stop on I-95.
