ALFRED, Maine (AP) A Maine woman is headed to court for a hearing about her request to withdraw a guilty plea in the case of her ex-husband’s stabbing death.
Kandee Collind was charged in the 2017 death of Scott Weyland in his Acton driveway. Her attorney says she’s appearing in York County Superior Court in Alfred on Thursday about her desire to withdraw the plea.
Collind pleaded guilty to reckless and knowing murder in August, but she has filed a motion that states she didn’t fully understand the charge. Collind’s attorney, Molly Butler Bailey, says Collind wants to use a defense of “abnormal condition of the mind.”
Collind faces a minimum sentence of 25 years in prison.
