A Turner man faces charges and has gunshot wounds after being shot by a deputy.

Androscoggin County Deputies say they tried to arrest Christopher Lebrun on an existing felony warrant during a traffic stop, but Lebrun led them on a chase.

They say he crashed into a tree in Turner and pointed a gun at a deputy when getting out of his vehicle, and was shot twice by the deputy.

Lebrun was taken to Maine Medical Center where he is currently being treated for his injuries and will face new criminal charges.

The Office of the Attorney will investigate the use of deadly force. The deputy has been placed on administrative leave, as is standard protocol when a police officer is involved in the use of deadly force.
