Woman Dies After ATV Strikes Tree

PORTLAND, Maine (AP)  Police identified the Saco woman as 26 year-old Shelby Peters. Police say a Peters was driving an ATV when she struck a tree and later died.

Portland Police say they responded Saturday night to the crash near the intersection of Summit Street and Curtis Road. Police say the ATV was the only vehicle involved.

Peters was transported to Maine Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased by medical staff.

The accident remains under investigation.
