HAMPDEN, Maine (AP) Court documents indicate a woman killed in Maine was in the process of divorcing the suspect’s brother.

The victim’s former husband said 49-year-old Renee Clark had moved out of the Hampden home she shared with her current husband, Frank Clark, and his brother, Philip Clark.

Philip Clark was charged with murder on Friday.

Court records show Renee Clark filed a protection order against her husband June 15, and Philip Clark was charged with criminal trespassing for entering her home the same day.

An autopsy revealed the victim had been shot multiple times Friday and the injuries prevented a positive identification. But family members confirmed Renee Clarke was the victim.

It’s unclear if Philip Clark has an attorney. He is due in court Monday. His brother couldn’t be reached for comment.
