PALMYRA, Maine (AP) – Police say a 58-year-old woman died in a single-vehicle crash in Maine when her car left the road and crashed into trees and rocks.

Police say the crash happened just before 7 a.m. on Saturday in Palmyra. They say Helen Hunt of Burnham left the road on the west side at full speed before the crash. Police say they suspect Hunt may have suffered a medical event just before the crash took place.

Hunt was transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor after the crash. Police say they were advised shortly after the transfer that she had died. The crash remains under investigation.
