Woman Reportedly Choked to Point She Passed Out Over Valentine’s Snub

A 32-year-old Waldoboro man is accused of strangling a woman to the point of passing out because she didn’t get him a Valentine’s Day gift.

The Midcoast Villager reports a victim told police she had a protective order against Graham Deleo, who she says assaulted her and would not let her leave, bit her nose, punched her stomach and strangled her to the point of she lost consciousness.

Deleo faces seven separate charges, including kidnapping, domestic violence aggravated assault, domestic violence criminal threatening, criminal mischief, domestic violence stalking, violating a protective order and violating conditions of release

The Villager reports he appeared in court on Monday, and a judge set his bail at $50,000.

Deleo was arrested last week at the Maine Mall in South Portland.
