Woman seriously hurt in Lewiston shooting

A 24-year-old woman was seriously injured in an overnight shooting in Lewiston, police say.

Police responded to Arch Ave. after the shooting was reported shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday.

According to CBS 13, the woman was taken to Central Maine Medical Center, where she was listed in serious condition late Thursday morning.

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit is assisting the Lewiston Police Dept. in its investigation.

No further details, including information on possible arrests, were immediately released by police.
