A wrong-way driver was taken into custody in Poland on Tuesday.

Maine State Police say 29-year-old Nathan Locke of Casco was seen driving on the wrong side of Route 26 in Mechanic Falls Tuesday night. A detective attempted to pull him over, but Locke continued driving in the wrong direction and almost struck a cruiser and other vehicles head-on.

After a short pursuit, police said Locke crashed into a telephone pole on Bakerstown Road in Poland.

Police said Locke was taken into custody after resisting arrest and faces several charges.
