Maine Points: Dream Factory Of Maine

The Dream Factory is the largest all-volunteer driven children’s wish-granting organization that does not limit its mission to children who have life-threatening illness. The organization believes children with chronic illnesses and disorders also suffer from substantial emotional and physical pain.

The Dream Factory grants the “dreams” of seriously ill youngsters from 3 to 18 years of age. They have sent a young man and his family from Kennebunkport to the Olympics, and a young cancer patient from Portland to the Super Bowl. They have built playgrounds and installed several swimming pools, and sent many, many families from all over Maine to Disney World.  Danny speaks with Kelley Skillin-Smith also known the fairy godmother as she’s been lucky enough to grant these dreams for Dream Factory Of Maine
