Maine Points: McAuley Residence

McAuley Residence, a department of Northern Light Mercy Hospital, is a comprehensive two-generation program for families affected by substance use disorders, abuse, mental illness, and other traumas. The program embraces a shared decision-making philosophy to ensure that outcomes are achieved and that each family reaches their personal best.

Prospective applicants can call (207) 747-4121 for more information. McAuley Residence has really evolved since its founding in 1988 by the Sisters of Mercy who established the transitional housing program to serve underserved single women and mothers. Currently, we have homes in Portland and Bangor with a third planned for Portland.

The need across the state is tremendous, and the McAuley model has been successful in helping hundreds of families heal. We also discuss 2024 McAuley Residence 5K Run/Walk for Recovery
