Maine Veterans Spotlight 12/1/24

12-1-24 Episode 21: Today is Civil Air Patrol Day in the state of Maine. Civil Air Patrol was founded on December 1, 1941 to organize and mobilize civilian aviation resources for national defense and became the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force in 1948. From the earliest days of coastal patrol during WWII through the present, Maine Wing has continuously served the people of Maine for 83 years.

We will speak with Colonel Mark Hyland Commander of the Maine Wing of Civil Air Patrol.

We will speak with John Fenzel, the CEO of the World War II Foundation, about the foundation’s work and John’s Service in the United States Army.

We will talk with Julie Flynn. She is The Judge Advocate for the American Legion Department of Maine and the commander of the American Legion Post in Gray.

We will also talk to Matt Jabaut, a Maine veteran who is the National Veterans Employment Commission Chair for the American Legion.
