A 33-year-old Lisbon man who died after falling into the water while fishing in West Gardiner on Monday suffered an apparent medical event.

Maine Game Wardens say Chadd Brewin was fishing with his father-in-law on Cobbosseecontee Stream Monday morning when Brewin fell overboard.

Brewin’s father-in-law also fell in the water when the boat overturned near the shore while he attempted to hold on to Brewin.

Brewin died after being taken to Maine General Medical Center.

Wardens say Brewin had a life jacket but was not wearing it.

The incident is under investigation.
