The social media company Tik Tok is moving to limit screen time for users under 18 in the coming weeks. Tik Tok says those under the age of 18 will have to enter a passcode after sixty minutes — meaning they’ll have to actively decide to extend their screen time. If the teen choses to turn off the new limit – and spends more than 100 minutes on Tik Tok per day – they’ll be prompted to set a daily screen limit for themselves. The company also updated its parental controls. Research finds that eating disorder content on the app had been viewed more than 13 billion times.
