New England Memorial Travel Forecast

  • AAA projects 1.79 million New Englanders will travel this Memorial Day weekend an increase of 6.7 percent.
  • Automobiles: 1.63 million will travel by automobile, an increase of 4.7 percent.
  • Planes: Holiday air travel is expected to increase by 25.4 percent to 141,00 leisure travelers.
  • Trains, Buses, Rails and Cruise Ships: Travel across these sectors will increase by 189 percent to 17,000 passengers.
