1 person killed after plane goes down near Bangor airport

A small plane crash at the Bangor airport Friday afternoon left one person dead.

The Bangor Daily News confirmed with the fire chief that the crash happened around 1:20 p.m. while the plane was taking off.

No one else was on board the plane at the time.

WVII reported that the plane crashed outside the airport’s fence line.

The victim’s name has not been released.
