A 48-year-old man faces several charges, including kidnapping, after being accused of assaulting and threatening a woman in a motel room in Bangor.

Police say the woman told them she’d been staying with Joseph Pepin at a motel on Odlin Road for about a week when, on Wednesday night, he threatened her with a gun and prevented her from leaving.

Officers say the woman was able to escape and call police.

They say they located a gun at the scene and arrested Pepin on several charges, including kidnapping and domestic violence.

He was taken to Penobscot County Jail. He was also charged with Possession of a Firearms Prohibited for Certain Persons, Class B.
