12-year-old girl accused of stabbing father in Auburn charged with attempted murder

An Auburn man is recovering in the hospital after allegedly being stabbed by his 12-year-old daughter.

It happened Wednesday morning at an apartment building on Winter Street.

Police say the girl stabbed her father in the chest and stomach. Investigators say she had a cut on her hand, and that led them to believe she was responsible for the attack.

Later on Thursday, police said the girl was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. She’s being held at Long Creek Youth Development Center while her father remained in the hospital in stable condition.
