6-year-old dies in hospital after going missing in Salmon Falls River

After a nearly 3 hour long search, police found an unresponsive six-year-old child in the Salmon Falls river in Rollinsford, New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon.

Our news partners at CBS-13 report that the child was reported missing around 2 PM while wading in the river with his family.

The boy was found fifteen feet from shore in ten feet of water around 4:45 pm later that afternoon.

He was life-flighted to Mass General Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

New Hampshire State Police said the incident remains under investigation.
