WELLS (WGME) — A man in Wells didn’t learn his lesson and was arrested two-weeks later for similar crimes, police say.

On August 15 31-year-old Johnathan Welch of Arundel was arrested and charged with domestic violence criminal threatening, domestic violence terrorizing, and unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs following reports of a domestic incident in Bears Den Road in Wells and later released on bail.

It only took 19 days for the man to go back to his old habits according to Wells Police.

On September 4th police were called to the same home on Bears Den Road for a domestic disturbance report and arrested Welch again.  This time he was charged with tampering with a victim, violation of conditions of release, domestic violence terrorizing and criminal mischief.

During the investigation, police  found 157 grams of cocaine, 391 grams of fentanyl, 169 grams of methamphetamine, a handgun, and over $3,000 in cash.  With a warrant, police later also found an additional 41 grams of fentanyl capsules, 920 grams of loose fentanyl, 255 grams of methamphetamine, a handgun, and over $13,000 in cash in a safe confiscated from Welch after his first arrest on August 15.

Welch is currently being held at York County Jail on both Federal and State charges and more charges are coming according to police.
