Another health care provider in Maine is dropping Anthem insurance plans.

According to CBS 13 news, Coastal Women’s Healthcare in Scarborough says it will drop Anthem plans as of August 23rd.

Patients who are pregnant or otherwise in the middle of an active care plan with their practice will continue to receive care, and can have their care plan completed in its entirety.

Coastal Women’s Healthcare said Anthem has not provided a serious response to their proposals to create a better partnership, saying that their current rate of reimbursements for their services is too low.

In a statement, Anthem said they have offered the healthcare provider generous increases in recent years, which have been rejected.
