At least one killed in multi-vehicle crash in Lewiston

Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to a multi-vehicle crash in Lewiston that left one person dead on Wednesday.

According to the Sun Journal, the accident involved at least three vehicles. It happened around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lisbon Street and Scribner Boulevard. Police said a Volvo appeared to have been rear-ended by a pickup truck just before the crash.

Several people were taken to local hospitals after being extricated from their vehicles.

The identities of everyone involved, including the person who died, were not immediately available Wednesday.
