The Maine Warden Service is investigating a fatal ATV crash that occurred Saturday afternoon on a trail near Quill Hill Road in Coplin.

According to the Bangor Daily News, Abigail Divoll, 25, of Royalston Massachusetts, was in the passenger seat of an ATV when the driver hit a washout and lost control of the vehicle.

Wardens say Divoll was killed in the crash and the driver, Mathew Tolman, 26, of Hubbardston, Massachusetts, was airlifted to Maine Medical Center in Portland to be treated for a serious head injury.

Tolman and Divoll were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident.

Officials say speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.
