Auburn man charged with attempted murder related to domestic dispute

Police in Auburn have made an arrest following a report of a shooting on Thursday night.

Officers arrived at an apartment on Ninth Street around 10:30 p.m. for a domestic violence call. A 47-year-old woman told police that her boyfriend, 42-year-old Germaine Page of Auburn, had fired a single shot at her during a physical altercation but missed. She then fled the apartment. The woman wasn’t seriously injured but was taken to Central Maine Medical Center.

A neighbor called police overnight and said Page was hiding out in an apartment on the same street. He was taken into custody without incident and faces multiple charges, including attempted murder. He’s being held without bail at Androscoggin County Jail.

Police say the incident is still under investigation.
