Maine State Police say a man described as a “violent felon” is at large.

Police said Wednesday they’re searching for 40-year-old William Gagnon. An active warrant is out for his arrest in connection with burglaries and thefts in the Liberty area. He was on probation as a violent felon.

Gagnon’s last known residence was in Liberty, but police say he may have recently moved.

Gagnon may be driving a 2000 maroon Dodge Ram or a U-Haul pickup truck. He may be armed.

Anyone who sees Gagnon is asked not to approach, but to call 911 or the Augusta Regional Communication Center at (207) 624-7076.
