The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife says an injured hiker had to be rescued after becoming pinned between some large rocks in The Forks.

Officials say 30-year-old Clayford Cabilas, of Bangor, and a friend had just finished a hike Saturday when they climbed up some large rocks to take a photo and Calibas lost his balance and fell between the rocks.

The department says crews used the jaws of life and airbags to move the rock and free Cabilas, who had a fractured arm and leg, a head injury and was becoming hypothermic.

He was flown by helicopter to the Bangor hospital.
