WATERVILLE, Maine (WGAN) Maine State Police have confirmed that a body found in Waterville is that of a missing mother of two, and that her boyfriend is charged with murder.

State police and Waterville police say investigators discovered the body at the home of 29-year-old Melissa Sousa, who’s been missing since Tuesday. Police arrested her boyfriend and the father of her two children, 28-year-old Nicholas Lovejoy, for having a loaded rifle in his vehicle and leaving the two children home alone.

State police say he was charged with murder Thursday afternoon. He’ll appear in court Friday at 3 p.m.
