PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN)  Portland Police say they are investigating the apparent drowning of a Florida man.

Police say around 7:05 Sunday night, officers were called to Great Diamond Island for a report that 19-year-old Maxwell Brown was missing and possibly in medical crisis.

Police say they, along with island residents, Maine Game Wardens and Marine Patrol began searching.  Around 1 a.m., the search was suspended because of the weather and visibility.

Police say around 7:14 Monday morning, Brown’s body was discovered in Casco Bay near Peaks Island by two private vessels.

Police say Brown’s body has been taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office for examination.
