Boyfriend of missing Monticello woman charged with murder after Game Wardens find body

An Aroostook County man has been charged in the death of his girlfriend.

Maine State Police say 39-year-old Jayme Schnackenberg was arrested Monday around 3:45 a.m. at his home on School Street in Monticello.

Schnackenberg lived at the home with his girlfriend, 42-year-old Kimberly Hardy. She was reported missing Sunday, June 18 by her mother. Her body was later discovered by Maine Game Wardens in a wooded area near Harvey Siding Road.

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner is expected to determine a cause of death and confirm the identity of the body.

Schnackenberg, who was charged with murder, made his initial court appearance Monday morning.
