Cat Dies in Campground Fire in Farmington

Firefighters say a cat is dead, and a building at the Troll Valley Campground in Farmington is heavily damaged from a fire over the weekend.

Crews were sent to the fire at 283 Red Schoolhouse Road in Farmington on Sunday around 2 p.m.

Firefighters say they quickly gained control of the fire. No one was injured in the fire, but one cat died.

Investigators determined the fire began in a space between the building’s basement ceiling and first floor. It has been ruled accidental.
