Child abducted in Baltimore found in Portland, police say

The Portland Police Department helped to make an arrest in a child abduction case.

The department says its Criminal Investigation Division was contacted by police in Baltimore, Maryland on Sunday about an abducted 10-year-old child who was taken from Baltimore and was believed to be in Portland.

Portland Police worked alongside Baltimore Police and the FBI to locate the child, who was reunited with their parents.

The suspect, a 17-year-old Honduran national, was charged. On Wednesday, they were in the process of being extradited back to Baltimore.

The investigation is still ongoing, with additional human trafficking charges likely.
