City announces plan to move asylum seekers from Portland Expo to area hotels

The City of Portland says all 192 of the asylum seekers living in the Portland Expo will be moved into area hotels.

The Portland Expo will end shelter operations Wednesday, a deadline that left city staff scrambling to find housing for the families living there.

According to CBS 13 news, a city spokesperson said Friday that the city is still working on the contracts with the hotels. Both are located outside of the city but are in the greater Portland area.

Families living at the Expo were informed of the plan on Friday.
