WGAN –  Saturday’s report added 437 new cases to the count as Five Counties in northern and eastern Maine are now listed as moderate risk of COVID transmission (in the yellow) according to the CDC.  The rest of Maine remains in the green, or low COVID transmission rates.  There is also a reported total of 100 people in the hospital “with” COVID-19, it’s not known how many were already in the hospital due to something besides COVID and then tested positive and how many are in the hospital only because of COVID.

There were no new deaths reported.

The seven-day average of new cases in Maine rose to 310 on Friday which is a 50 percent increase in less than a week.
